Meeting with Anni from the DRU Board
The Exiles committee welcomes Anni Stepensen from the DRU board. DRU has divided the different clubs between its members. Anni is contact person for Exiles.
According to the DRU calendar, the girls are playing the tournament on June 22nd and the guys have a home game on the same day. The club will have its summer party at the same time
Zorn asks Anni about the use of other club’s players, specially for the last cup final.
DRU will probably use around 3 weeks to issue licenses to new players
Zorn asks Anni about the planning of games by DRY. When the Danish national team is playing, DRU try not to arrange games on the same day. Next Danish game will be played at Gladsaxe and DRU is looking for help during the day. For the past years, the Danish national team has been playing games in Odense with the support of the local councils. DRU is planning the day with the participation of the youth tournament. The club will try to help.
Anni describes the tasks of the DRU staff: Preben Rasmussen is the development officer. He is visiting Danish schools and organizes the youth tournaments. Michael Lai is the technical director. He is involved with the national teams (Men’s XV and 7, Ladies 7 and under 18 y.o.). He was national team coach until last year.
The club had some unfortunate experiences during the past with Lai, including a badly organized coaching course and a negative attitude against us.
Jesper: The Union disposes of limited funds. What does DRU get for the money? It is not mandatory to continue with the same organization as today. Some money comes from Rugby Europe and World Rugby. It is difficult to see how DRU spends the money in the accounts. How much is reserved for salaries? What’s Michael Lai’s job? The DRU board is following the situation
Simon says that DRU should get back to the grassroots in the clubs.
DRU knows that there is a gap between the clubs and the Union and between the clubs. Anni asks the club to participate at the Rugby Conference on March 23rd-24th in Brøndby.
AGM
The club will have its AGM at Charlie Scott’s on Saturday, February 16th at 18.00.
Nick will chair the meeting as President of the club.
Note that from 2019: coaches will be asked to pay social subs or playing members
Concerning the subs, Jesper proposes to take them out of the Constitution and leave the decision to the Committee.
Simon advises to drop the half year subscription.
Signe objects that the klubmodul system is not flexible enough.
Marc: Most players will be affected by this new system and it could have a negative effect on recruitment.
At the moment, the club has 162.000 dkk in the bank
In 2019, the Men’s team will apply for money for a new kit
DTU is building an extension to the shed that should be ready in the beginning of April. Unfortunately, we cannot store beers there. The club should be looking for a place at DTU to solve this issue.
Some committee members are leaving us (DTU liaison, Socials, Recruitment) and will be missed.

Beatrice has made a description of the tasks of the social secretary. She will continue as Social secretary until the AGM and arranges to watch the games at Bootleggers. Talk to Greg about sponsoring the men’s shirts.
Alberto is stopping as recruitment secretary, but he would like to continue to help with designing website, flyers and posters. He is going to talk with Becky about it. He reminds about the DTU sportsday on January 29th
